The seating chart is Mrs. Darwin’s room is set up so that everybody can learn easily with as little distractions as possible. In an elementary classroom it’s almost impossible not to have any distractions, but you can try. When I first started my internship the three read 180 kids (Ashanti, Preston, and Joey) were seated together, but for some reason Ashanti wasn’t getting along with the other people at her table. So, she was moved to another group where she might get along with her classmates better. Some friends are seated together such as Alex and Aleyna. However, they still get their work done when they’re supposed to. Other friends such as Matthew and Jacob would do nothing but distract each other if they were seated together. So, they’re on opposite ends of the room. Fortunately, most kids in Mrs. Darwin’s class get along with no problem. The only exception is Maggie who has behavioral disorders and will create drama wherever she is seated. The entire class realizes there’s something different about her, but they treat her nicely just like they would anybody else. I could imagine making this seating chart didn’t take long because this class gets along with each other so well. The way the room is set up, if anybody were to misbehave it wouldn’t take any time at all to notice who it was. The only thing I can think of anybody doing to misbehave that’s related to the seating chart is talking too much. This class was wonderful to work with.
