Equiptment/Technology
Technology definitely played a big part in all of my lessons, and also every day when Mrs. Darwin teaches. In three out of four of my lesson I played YouTube videos to help better explain the subjects. In the other one I read them a poem I found online and projected it onto the Promethean Board screen. When Mrs. Darwin teaches, she is constantly using the Promethean board and document camera. I’ve found not only from my recent experience as a student teacher, but also through my experiences as an actual student that kids pay more attention when technology is used. I don’t know how I would have taught my lesson without technology! Another form of technology that I used during my internship for the first time was a copier. I can definitely see how knowing how to use a copy machine cam come in handy when being a teacher. I learned how to make simple copies really fast, but one day Mrs. Darwin asked me to copy some pages from a book and make a packet for everybody on the class. I had no idea what to do! Luckily, I found Mrs. Davis, the assistant teacher in the hallway after ten minutes of trying to figure it out for myself. In today’s world it’s impossible to teach without technology. I don’t think there’s a single teacher in America that doesn’t use some form of technology. I think that’s a good thing though. Technology makes things more efficient, and also its fun!
